Peach-leaved bellflower (Campanula persicifolia)
Clump-forming perennial, up to 1m high. Native to Europe. Grows on meadows, forests. One of the most beautiful and characteristic flowers of semi-dry and sandy meadows in Northern Europe. Flowers are violet-blue, up to 5cm (2 in) in diameter.
Cultivation
Can be grown in flower-beds, semi-natural or natural meadows. Easily propagates by seeds. Prefers well-drained sandy soil with moderate to low fertility, otherwise cannot compete with grasses. In flower-beds can be grown in fertile soil, where it grows larger and bears more and larger flowers.
